Clearing the garden shed - Mrs. F will be proud of me!As it's such a lovely day here and I did all my potting on yesterday afternoon and Windy Miller Jnr is currently cutting all the grass (which has grown to junglesque proportions in all the warm rain we've had for the last 3 weeks), I thought I'd finally do the job I've been dreading for months...
Clearing out the garden shed.
It was full of rubbish and I couldn't get into it any more. So I set to at about midday and have just stopped for a bite of lunch. Then it's back to the slog of sorting, decluttering and re-arranging. I've been banging in lots of nails to hang things up on and have also been utterly ruthless in throwing things out that I've been hanging onto for years...in case it became 'useful' at any time.
Mrs. Fiddlesticks will be very pleased with the results when I've finished. I've taken photos so will be back later...

Found any real treasure yet? Or just monster spiders?
I hacked a path to the compost heap and was astounded at how overgrown its got since I last went out there a week ago.
Just been really brave and holystoned the cooker top, always a bit of an undertaking with our commercial cooker. Kitchen is full of sand and a slightly singed smell now

Mary-Jane, make sure that there is no hiding any junk in the corners. I shall carry out a thorough inspection next week.

Until you clear your hovel you have no inspection rights anywhere

Heard my name mentioned... Well done on the shed - always a facer to do.
A good clear out is so... 'cleansing' don't you think.
photos would be fun... good plan! and as Sally says have you found any treasures.

Treasures? We-ell...I found Gervase's missing socket set and oil funnel. No idea how they got in there - but no doubt I'll get the blame.
Other than that, just MONSTER spiders and about 89 slugs and snails lurking in damp pots. The chooks will be happy when I feed them their banquet later.
Better dash - been sent to make tea for Windy Jnr and Gervase.

Or you could pop them in the freezer for later.

Right, here are the photos...
The shed before I started...

The shed emptied ready for a good sweep and all the debris chucked outside...

All the debris gone and sorted out. 4 bags for council recycling, 2 bags and a box to the recycling centre, a few bits of wood for the fire and a barrowload of stuff returned to proper places...

Five and a half hours later - taaaaaa-daaaaaaa! An organised shed

Hang on, the conspiracy theorists will doubt that this ever happened and was staged in a studio somewhere. I think we'd better check the angle of the shadows and the like.

It's not Mary-Jane posting, she'd never spell 'debris' incorrectly.

I wouldn't mind having a go at Gervase's two workshops, both of which need a really good clear out...but I don't think he'd let me within a million miles of them.

good job MJ
care to come and investigate the back of our shed, I think there is a BBQ, an electric mower and an angle grinder in there that I could do with but I haven't seen them for ages

I could probably fill at least 2 skips with the stuff OH has got in his sheds.... you can hardly get inside any of them and its a constant battle to move things back that he's moved into my way when I go in the feed shed....
