Cob nuts / Hazel nuts???

What's the difference?
and now I have got a load what can I do with them other than salting?
Thanks!
vipper

I think they are effectively the same thing. I have seen cobnut used to describe fresh ones and hazelnut to describe dried ones.

Use them in cooking - stews and stuffings.

You could make this

Hazel's are riounder, cobs more pointed, either that or one remains torally in the husk and the other sticks out, summink like that, and like all such rules there are loads of exceptions.
Naomi

You can make pesto using hazel nuts too.

Being as they are small and longer and pointier then they might be cob nuts then. Not that it really matters!
