Coming on nicelyOur breeding scheme for the Cambars seems to be bearing fruit. Here are a couple of pics of this years hatchings.
The first is a boy (his gold neck hackles are just starting to develop) 100 days old:
And here's a girl at 75 days - she has nearly all her adult plumage:
Its made me realise how important keeping accurate records is to getting good results. The chicks change so fast that its really easy to lose track of who is who (especially with several hatchings following on after each other).

The colouration of the female looks identical to a Ginger Oxford Game hen

Yep, they are a cross between a Barred Plymouth Rock and a Campine - the result is an 'auto-sexing' breed where the chicks can be sexed from day 1 by the different colouring.
