Content management systems and security.

Am having a discussion with a friend about discussion fora and he says that forums are a kind of Content Management system, and all CMS are just a big mess of security holes, so he won't touch them with a long pole.

Should I be worried, or how can I allay his concerns?

if it must be written a single sheet on a glass surface is usually ok

a one use slice of universal background radiation is a good place to start for a decent cypher Laughing

nowt is really secure and that includes humans Wink

and traffic analysis can give context to those who watch.

The truth is complicated. CMS's have a poor rep, forums slightly less poor.
Most of the risk comes through third party add ons.
myff has not been hacked ever in over 10 years.
The basic point in a way is that if you are not going to use a CMS, then what the heck are you going to use to fill the role of a CMS?
