Copicing at workWe have started to re-establish the existing copice in our woods.
Whilst up there I spotted the first regrowth.

What trees are they, the look a bit like beech from the photo? Do you get any problems with animals nibbling the new growth?

We used to but have now excluded them (well the farm ones). Not sure now what it was might be willow too.

No rabbits or deer? Do you have much woodland and do you mainly use the timber for firewood or anything else?

Nope no rabbits or deer in the area (one family of hare's). Curently use it for firewood & recreation. Might be taking some for timber soon too. Once sorted will be spliting it into sections so I can rotate pigs & other animals.
