Corset weekend photos threadWell, some of them anyway. Others, I am withholding for blackmail purposes.
This is very essential stuff.
Cathryn gets taped up for her pattern
and Cheryl
Helen retreats to survey the chaos she has created
You can't breathe in these things (Cathryn)
or sit down
Mandy's turn
And Jo's
Mandy thought she made a good Bodecia (it was like wearing armour!)
I get my pattern drawn on
and finally get cut out
Ollie pays close attention
Pattern pieces
Endless pinning of bits together
Cathryn is winning (no one else is anywhere near sewing, yet)
Ollie is a dog of many talents

looks like a good and squeezy time was had by all. Just seen assorted very soggy DS children and menfolk at St Fagans, presumably after having been banished from the vicinity of the corsetry for the day

It was a fantastic weekend. Helen's patience was sorely tried by the ineptitude of some (well, one) of her proteges, but she kept smiling. The food was great - Ginkotree and Gent spoiled us rotten, aided by Mr Jocorless.
Many thank yous to everyone.

I was born into the wrong century. I think I'd suit a corset. Being a traditionally built sort of person.

I had such a lovely restful time, thank you everyone. Very interesting to be shown the different styles through the centuries. That book was quite intriguing as well.
Look how far I got with mine as well.
I can appreciate why they cost so much, there is a huge amount of work involved in making each one if you have it made to fit you beautifully. (I said that with fingers crossed.)

Oooo! You got your busk in already!

She is such a teacher's pet!
I remembered what happened to the purple fabric (I think!) I think it may have gone to Helen M for Abbie's fairy party. If she still has it, and Abbie doesn't want it, it yours Jamanda (and conveniently in the right house already.....)

I remembered I'm going to Gravesend soon, and there is a huge John Lewis near there, so I'll be able to get some there I hope - or I could go to Liberty's.

Aaaargh, just the next County. That's worryingly close.

I know. Thank God I'd sent Boy Wonder to bed early. (Mind you, it's going to make his "What did you and your family do in the holidays?" essay interesting for his teacher.)

I'm gobsmacked. I thought it was only me that swears on Friday nights. What did she say?

more of the DS kinky obsession with underwear...Rob spent half an hour looking at this one page
so why the obsession with corsets? are corsets the new DS friendly bras?

Helen do you know what happened to my neo-corset? I'm expecting to a have a few free days over the next couple of weeks to play with it.
Now that I've turned the tension on my sewing machine up from 0, anyway.......

Frewen Feltmaker

Has that fixed it? I was going to bully you into letting me look at it today

I'm so gutted I missed this! Hopefully I shall be there for the next one. Have made a pact with misdemeanor to never ever be away from the country this long ever again (or at least not without him and most definitely NOT in the summer when all the fun stuff is happening!). Helen M we are most definitely on for the corset for me. We'll have to talk more about it soon as it looks like it might be needed sooner than expected! (well.......hopefully anyway )

Cathryn

Oh yes...?

has someone got my corset? And could it be posted back to me - I'm happy to pay post postage, but I'm not likely to finish it if it's in Wales, and I'm not!

Helen hasn't been around for a few days. I hope she's OK.

Helen's got it. She intends to post it back to you along with something else you were short of?
She hasn't been around this week. Think she was going to be at Ginkotree's this weekend. I can probably pick anything up from there next week if it helps at all.

No problem - could someone nudge her to post it when she is around? I'm away now till Sunday, and hoping to do some sewing when I get back, and before I go away again the following Wednesday.
BA, go back to the cake thread!
