CouriersWho are you using to send larger parcels (10-30kgs)?
Parcel force are expensive and couriers want regular business.

Amtrak. Fastest, cheapest, most reliable. HOWEVER, some one else will be along in a moment to say they are crap. It very much depends on your local (franchised) depot, unless you're in London, when they are all rubbish.

Absolutely. We've used near enough all of them and they can all be crap when they want to be.

I always use Initial City Link, I've used them for a number of years.. I've never had a problem that they haven't sorted (and those have been minor). They aren't too expensive.

Amtrak were good for me. CityLink were cheaper.

I think people like BusinessPost coud be a better deal, but were only interested in volume.
Try visiting their local depots at about 6pm, try and get to see what goes on, and then see how that influences your opinion.
I'd be your branch you'd deal with - they should be the ones to sort out any screw-ups at the hub or the other end. So having a competent, conscientious and well organised local branch IS important.

Amtrack... didn't want to know as my parcel was 40mm too long.
Parcelforce were the cheapest.... but arrived 25 hours late.
Be interested to hear of a decent courier !

Just sold 5 tyres on ebay & I connot use my usual business courier, so need to shift 5 large items cheap, anyone know of someone who will shift pallet sized things?

I hear tell of someone called Palletline. £40 per pallet. Beyond that, I know nuffin.

There's loads of pallet networks, pallex is another I believe.

I've been talking to my local ANC depot - anyone had dealings with them re palleted or parcelled goods ?

I've never driven for ANC but I have driven for Parcel Force and IMHO there are better, I have had a lot to do with palletline and they have impressed me the most. (If this is any use to you.)

Pallex by far the best for moving pallets, but since they are tyres and presumably not easily damaged  cost wise better with palletways or palletline - whoever is nearest to you to collect.

hmm, seems parcel force drop the weight limit when you send more than one item to 1 address, they are the cheapest at £35 for 5 tyres as a one off, much cheaper with an account though

Try parcel2go & do a search for online pallet people as one does full half 1/3 & 1/4 size pallets.
