cycle helmetsBought a new one since coming off my bike, so got an old one to get rid of. Any ideas??????? It is polystyrene apparently.... but covered in all sorts of things.... |

They come in such bright colours, I'd be tempted to paint it first before garden use. Like the idea of a hanging basket 
Break up polystyrene and use to stuff a cushion / beanbag As packing/padding materials for fragile parcels |

Since they come in such fabulous colours, you could break it into little bits with a hammer and scatter it on the earth in flower pots to keep the slugs off.
Or just break it into bigger bits and use it as drainage material in the bottom of pots. |

yes I survived thanks! Though it took me a while to get back on. downhill... ice.... bike went one way I went the other and landed face first saved by the helmet! Huge nose bleed, passers by called an ambulance who cleaned me up and dropped me home with my bike! I won't cycle on ice now I'm afraid, but I'm back cycling to work again finally..... 
I quite like the hanging basket idea. I'm not sure I'm up to breaking it up it took quite a knock and looks fine from the outside (though there is a crack on the inside) I think I'd need a mini JCB to break it up! I could even glue some hessian or something on to make it look more like a hanging basket and less like a cycle helmet..... |

Theres a real knack to cycling in icy conditions, and I'm afraid that the best way to learn it is by doing, which in my experience meant taking plenty of knocks in the process

Trouble is, an hour late for work got me in enough trouble, (and it was unpaid obviously) and that was even though they knew that I was picked up by an ambulance and told not to go in to work at all...!! |
