Display pig ?Any one any clever ideas of how to display my spit roast in use without using a real pig ?
I would like to have a stall at my local farmers market and perhaps some local shows, as I have no catering certification I am looking for something to represent a full size pig I can mount on the spit.
Ta Dave.

What about a flat card/expoboard one, then on the back you can have info on how to roast a pig, gve the spit a turn and the pretty picture is rotated to allow the serious customer to read some handy hints and tips? A flat image is easy to store and a couple of rings on the back for the spit should do the trick for mounting

Perhaps you could develop some smaller versions as a flyer for your services?

I had some glossy post cards done by vista print, they were ok.

Mmmmmmmmmm plasma cutter (sorry, I'm starting to dribble)
Going to get my cartoonist brother to draw me one on a sheet of ply (jeez that's going to cost me some beer ! ) then cut it out with a jig saw.

Not seen that site before, thanks.
Have been looking at some small German TIG welders on ebay, but then I will need another gas bottle of pure argon ( £70 a year) for welding stainless......

Do a search on their. Lots of user reports about them. Also a couple of good trusted sellers are avaliable for advice without them being pushy about sales.

I found the easiest way of making 3d sculptures and models is to crunch up newspapers into ball shapes and stick them together using brown parcel tape. Keep sticking these scrunched up newspapers until you start getting the shape you want. keep sticking them together with parcel tape.
Then cover the whole lot with the other type of parcel tape - where you have to wet it for it to stick.
when it's dry you can paint it.

The best thing has to be the real deal mate, a roasting piggie. Can you bribe a cook from work to come for a few hours to the show, maybe?
