DIY Irrigation ?In February I planted 70ft of Privet and Quickthorn dry root out the front of our house. I did the usual watering as necessary for the first few weeks.
Now as the drier weather comes i want to do something to ensure they stay suitably moist, but without the need to stand out the front watering with a hose - i alway feel a bit conspicous watering at the front as our garden is about 4 ft up from the road.
I've looked at a few of the irrigation kits on Ebay, but i'm sure i've seen DIY approaches like drilling holes in hose and the like.
Has anyone done this - if so, what size holes/spacings...
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Dean.

I'd mulch rather than irrigate, 3 or 4 inches of bark or similar would be good
