Do honey jars needs washing?Do most beeks steam their new honey jars in the dishwasher before they fill them up with honey?

I'd wash them but then sterilize them in the oven, same as you would jam jars. Don't think its strictly necessary.

I'm with beean, I tend to stick em in the oven like jam jars. Not that it really matters as you can't do any of that with the plastic ones.
You shouldn't need to as honey is pretty much anti-septic.

If they are clean, no dust or grease stains & have come direct from the factory then no you dont have too.
Honey as long as it has a low enough moisture content is mildly antiseptic & wont go off.
For exhibition, definately wash & polish with a lint free cloth inside & out.
If they are preused then def wash in milton or similar.
