Do we want a forum subscription system?On myff there are now links allowing you to subscribe to individual forums or all of the forums on a board.
This means you get an email when a new topic occurs.
Not to relevant to most of downsizer, as we are way too busy, but it might have some use?

Having used that feature on other forums it can be a real pain if the thread is busy or you post in lots of threads & have the auto subscribe on posting ticked (ok this is a user seting that can be tweaked). Having said that if a thread was very interesting to me i would manualy subscribe, but for general threads the new post search seems to cover all bases.

I certainly do not have any notifications myself on downsizer, but individuals may not be constant browsers of downsizer (unbelievable maybe, but I think this is actually true  ) and may have an interest in new posts in a specialist area.

Yeh I guess for people that dont live here (do such people exist or is it an urban myth?) it would be helpfull.

It could be a handy feature: if one isn't logged on all the time (shock horror, whyever not?  ) it might be useful to know when something new has been posted to a particular forum of interest.

A useful feature. Threads on some of the quieter pages get fewer replies & so don't remain in the latests posts for long & I miss them.
