Downsizer.net Club MembershipAs some of us aren't families, would it be possible to change the membership categories to "household" rather than "family" or perhaps have an individual member category?

What club, What membership?
Do I need to turn my trouser leg up & practice odd hand shakes?

It is an insurance thingy for events, very nominal and available in your user profile.
I am sure we can sort the wording.

It is new and whilst it works, we was planning on making it a little nicer, and so have not really mentioned it.
This site is after all always intended as free anyway, it is just we are in a bit of a corner with running events and needing insurance that is if we buy yearly based on a "membership number", hence a need to have a form of paid membership

i can understand the need to cover yourself with insurance , it's not exactly a huge cost anyway

Anyone attending the skills sharing weekend is getting membership thrown in with the cost, so no surprise cost is being sprung on people, and obviously money raised goes to the insurance and to run the site. There is absolutely no change in what downsizer.net is about here.

At the moment its going towards site runnng costs (hamster food, that sort of thing) and we are looking into an insurance policy that will cover the group if we for example took a stall at a smallholders fair where members could showcase work as well as selling the Downsizer bags. It would also provide insurance cover at meet ups where the site owners insurance didnt already allow for groups using the land. Still getting quotes in on that though, so we don't have a final list of the details, but thats the gist of what we're aiming for.

We don't have all the details together yet. that's why there hasn't been a formal announcement.
Some staff have signed up, as much to trial the process and payments as much as anything.
