dyeing fleece - the material not sheep fleeceIs it possible?
I have a snuggly fleece jacket-come-cardigan which is great apart from the colour, a rather vivid pink which does nothing for me at all!
It doesn't strike me as a fabric that would take to dyeing very easily even though you see it in all sorts of colours.
Has anyone ever tried?
I fancy purple or just a deep red maybe, so the same colour family.

does that label say what its actually made of? Its possible that Dylon will do it, but you would need to knwo what sort of fibre it is first, some of the synthetics work fine, others won't dye at all.

I'll have a look in a wee while ... it's in the washing-machine at the mo.

If it is dye-able at least you're starting off with the right base colour for the colours you want.

It's 100% polyester.
Hopeless or hopeful I wonder?
Doesn't feel like it'd take a dye but what do I know

not easy unless you add the colour while making the fibres

polyester is a bit of a pain to dye unfortunately, might be easiest to look for a new jacket if you can't bear the colour, or maybe think about altering something like the cuff or collar with a darker facing so its more flattering against the skin?

Not to worry.
I haven't really got the time to get my sewing machine out at the mo, although I did wonder about making it into a lining for an outer jacket but that started to sound horrendously time consuming and complicated whereas I need to be concentrating on art and frames right now.
It might well turn up at the mid-winter meet looking for a new home.
It's not a girly pink but it's definitely bold!
If pink is anyone's colour, I'll bring it along.
