Easter Egg hunt

Has anyone organised one? I'm toying with the idea of organising one for the millennium orchard and would love some hints/tips.
Nick

Only round our garden and fields. Millions of eggs, so each kiddie gets a few, especially so the little ones get some.
And try and remember where you left them. Some won't be found...

we always have one either in the garden or in the house or both - been doing it for years, first with my own 3 and now with my stepson!

ALWAYS forget where Ive put at least two - even tried to write a list as I hid them but then lost it Embarassed

I use plastic empty eggs and fill them with tiny eggs - had them for years too...not very downsizery but it keeps them from getting wet if it rains after ive hidden them!!!

I think the latest one of the kids found a forgotten egg was the following chrismas!!

We do one using clues - have them running all around the garden and down into the fields. From clue to clue with little eggs then finally the big prize at the end. It is a bit of a job as the clues are graded according to age - ie the 8 year old helps the 20 year old with his Laughing but it has been a long tradition in our family and we love it.

We somethimes do the clue thing - I remember drawing pictures for youngest, before he could read Very Happy Other times I just hide things all over the house - in threes, so they just take one of each thing. I tell them the total number of items to find, and leave them to it Very Happy

Guaranteed mayhem then - as my lot do it with their cousins as well Laughing

I usually run one for the infant school Easter fair. I hide tubs of numbered tickets, 1 to 10, and the kids have to bring back one of each ticket to claim their prize. They are remarkably good at putting the lids back on the tubs.

We're running one (well the missus is) for the local nursery, it's all very vague at the mo, I'll quiz her about it.

The PTFA do one at school.

First the older children KS2 come out, and hide lots of silver squares with 3 Gold ones, hiden by teachers!

Then KS1 come out and have to find 3 squares to get a little egg. Only one each, about the size of a cream egg. If anyone finds a gold square then they win a big egg. When they have finished they go and hide the squares for the older ones and off we go again.

I did the clue one when I was nannying. It's great fun.
I will do one with the kids this year.

The local swimming club organised one last year but the age ranges were so wide it didn't really work. All the older ones had grabbed them all before the younger ones stood a chance.

I would have gone with a seperate area for the little ones and then the bigger ones could have just fought it out among themselves.

Thats why having a ticket system is better for a public event. Obviously at home you just hide chocolate eggs around and make sure the big ones help the little ones.

Or vive versa in my family Rolling Eyes

It's still there in other threads.
