ecommerce on myfreeforumFinally I am within a week or two of finishing programming a shopping cart system on myff
I am basing it on:
http://www.nopdesign.com/freecart/
which is a totally javascript solution, and since I let people program their own javascript into the forums it should be easy for different payment gateways to be set up
I have a little interface that allows people to define what can be bought from their shop
This will all add a nice finishing touch to myff, as people can now have forums, web pages and ecommerce.

So you can set up a whole website on your platform?
Is the ecommerce Joomla based?

No, it is a combination of a javascript system and using my own myff admin interfaces and phpbb3 style templating system to let people define a shop (or shops) and the goods for sale.
As they can edit all the templates and javascript, it will mean that they can run with what ever I define by way of options and payment gateways, or they can take full control and do a whole lot more.

Well as of this morning I have a little shop:
http://forum.myfreeforum.org/viewportal.php?component=shop
set up to sell myfreeforum things, it is working well with paypal at the moment and has several other gateways built it but in need of testing and polishing.
The shop looks a little crude at the moment, but it is running a default template that someone can edit.
Especially with paypal I think anyone could be up and running with a little shop in minutes.
