Egg boxes.Out of curiosity, where do people buy egg boxes from?Hopefully we will be having a few extra eggs to sell when we get our ex-bats. |

Depends on numbers needed at a time & storage space.
For small numbers & less storage I get them from local Agri merchant For larger numbers & plenty of storage I use Ascotts or other online suppliers. |

We get them 300 at a time (half dozen) from the local smallholding supplies place, £16-50 last time I got some. | ||

I'm quite lucky as a friend of mine who has been selling eggs at the doorstep for many years has her customers well trained in the art of supplying her with empty boxes.  
Obviously though, if you are supplying eggs on a commercial basis second hand boxes would be no good, but that's a whole different business I don't want to get into. |

I know its daft but that is commercial. The way round it is to display the eggs on trays & allow the customer to choose their own eggs & put them into their own boxes. You cant even have the pile of used boxes near by. Daft Daft Daft but then most rules are. Even giving them away is supply as far as the regs go. Richard |

I get mine from Ascott - but I can collect as they are only down the road, so I bypass the postage. | ||

Yes, Ascott seems the way to go.Hopefully we will have eggs to sell at the local FE college,so no old boxes.
All my residents at work will be more than happy to use old boxes, so will all the other allotment holders. Its known as re-cycling don,t you know

Becki, if the offer of the egg boxes is still on, I would be happy to buy some from you. Buying 300 at a time seems to be tempting fate. pm me with quantities and price etc.
Also, could you tell me what information you have to put on the boxes. I,m trying to print my own labels, but no luck so far! |

hold off on the labels till you get the boxes and know the size needed, no rush yet is there? Talk about not counting your doodahs before they're wossited!
I can probably help you with that anyway in exchange for a visit to see the purple bearded chicklets and half a dozen eggs later |

I get mine from Flytes of Fancy - mainly cos they do them in pretty colours and my customers like that

I get mine from our local Farmers' Co-op. I order them about a week in advance. It works out slightly cheaper than Ascott. | ||

I'm with Jocorless and buy mine from flytes of fancy---nice colour range--much nicer than nondescript grey things. | ||
