Flowers first then the fruit forms. Sep/Oct is about right for the berries.

Oh, yes, forgot the cordial, thats good stuff
They're a fine berry for the repertoire of a forager. Not in my view as useful as blackberries, but still, tasty.
I think that the finest application of them is in blackberry and elderberry wine.
