email passwordsA member of one of my forums, and I might add not an idiot of a member has had all sorts of things hijacked.
This stems it would seem from someone gaining access to his hotmail account and using that to do "lost password" routines on other accounts of his.
It is a salutary lesson that your email account is a gateway to do this, and you should have a strong password on it that you do not use elsewhere.

Do you mean to say a password of "123456" isn't very secure?

Weren't 90% of passwords 'password' until they started telling you to include numbers in them? Now they're all 'password1'

I have run scans on passwords and it is horrifying just how many are still weak

No, that's fine. As far as I can tell nobody else has accessed your bank account.

I try and drum password security into everyone I know, and the words "wall", "head" and "banging" do sadly reoccur
