Employing a teenager?

Have any of you employed an under 16 year old to work. How do you cope with no N.I. number and did you have to get a work permit from the education authority?

There a maximum number of hours they can work, 8 i think. they will need written permision from a parent or guardian. wages dept sorted out NI and tax stuff.

i worked in a restaurant from 13 and did exams etc
my apprentice on the building game was 14.5 and was failed by the school system
not legal but a good thing
there are legal ways ,rules etc .
