Fancy more involvement with Downsizer?

If any of you are interested in being a moderator on the forum then please PM me, although knowledge on any particular subject(s) is obviously useful it's not essential.

Please post any queries you may have here

I have only been to a Mod club once.
I had been to a Socialist P arty event. Me and the three comrades I was with were wearing explicitysocialist tee shirts.
I don't remember any of the music being played. I remember the fascist contingent that invited tjemselves to the party.
I remember the males I was with being even more drunk than me.
I remember hiding behind pillars, until we could escape.
So, what music did we miss?

The role of a mod (here at least) is to make sure that discussions do not degenerate into slanging matches between people, they should also be aware of any potentially illegal advice being given or activities being promoted.

It's nice to have mods with a good knowledge of the subjects that they're looking after in a resource rich site like this because they can potentially spot people that can add to our library of archives, glossary items etc. But as I say that's not essential, much more important is to make sure that nothing affects the friendly and welcoming feel of Downsizer.

As Tahir said above, mods are there to keep thing on track and deal with anything that turns offensive, that ould be anything from an inadvertant use of swearing to deleting a spam post of dubious nature.

The key is that mods are also members, so it doesn't make anyone more 'right' in a debate or confer a hirearchy.

Successful modding is always the kind that nobody notices!

It's also appropriate for mods to try to initiate interesting discussions in their areas, and to try to keep the discussions bouncing along and interesting. But that's something many members do anyway.

I would be up for becoming a mod if you want me - I'm already an admin but haven't contributed much really Crying or Very sad yet

I'm on here nearly all day every day so wouldn't mind which area I look after although I've no idea about shooting or animal farming stuff

We never hold that against anyone, the main purpose for us all being here is to learn and enjoy, anything else is a bonus.

Now that David (Corless) Bailey is taking all those lovely piccies you could help me add some photos to the glossary with your front page admin status Wink (as always no pressure)

Sense of humour I can do Laughing Count me in if you don't get lots of other takers Very Happy
