faulty incubator -what would you do?I have a covattuto semi auto incubator which earlier in the year developed a fault. It is heating up but no matter how Is try to adjust it it ever raises above a certain level and cant reach the desired heat. Logic then points to the thermostat, but enquiries on the net have only revealed that a replacement thermostat will cost about £30.
No, the incubator was 2nd hand when I bought it for £60, so i it worth me replacing the thermostat(which ma not be he actual problem, but probaly is) or do i gofor another new incubator?
Ideas and comment invited.......................

I say go for new, and get a brinsea.
I struggled for the last two years with my faulty inc...should have saved myself the bother.

I'd agree with Ixy - it's just so much hassle. The incubator-lady at Ascott told me that she thought that Novital and Brinsea were equally good, though, and it just depended on whether you were used to one or the other.

Well, I received a flier from Ascott the other day with an egg box order and it made me think.
They are advertising a Novital 20 ECO semi for £89.99 new.
I already have a 50 egg Corti (it does the job well, but condensates everywhere), but like having a smaller 2nd incubator so whaddya think?

I'd go for it, Lorraine. I think they are guaranteed for a year whereas the Brinseas are for two ... but double check. I do like Ascott. They are just so *nice*.
