Former Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom returns to Cambodia to track down the ferry that the programme's 1979 appeal bought for the people of Cambodia - a country on the verge of imploding after more than three years of tyrannical mis-rule by the Khmer Rouge.
He finds a society that first appears vibrant and flourishing but the tragic legacy of the last 30 years soon emerges. Simon tries to do his bit by taking the ferry manager to task over charges of corruption, with results that are both touching and only too human.
