Finally found a few...

I found a few wood mushrooms and some shaggy parasols today. COW coming through a lot here now at the same time. I don't have years of experience but seems weird, this is the first thing i've picked since St Georges...

I have now seen a Chicken of the wood on a fallen oak tree at a show I went to over the weekend. As far as I know, it was still intact by the end of the weekend.

I spent several hours hunting today and came home empty handed. Then my neighbour just told me where i could find a giant puff ball if the cows hadn't trod on it.
Sure enough it had survived and there was a second one growing in a difficult to access spot, so picked the easy one and left the other. My 1st find so quite happy. My neighbour isn't interested in eating puffballs but spots them every year. This spot is a new one apparently but within walking distance of a regular fruiting location so maybe a good year for puffs? Sometimes you just get lucky Wink

Found some ceps yesterday, but haven't yet identified them, so not picked any yet. The slugs and snails seem to think they are good through.

So jealous, hardly seen any boletus at all this year, few red crackers and thats it so far. No sign of chantrelles yet either here (wilts) but i'll be going to some spots later in the week....

I think I got some hedgehogs. Need to do some investigations.

Found some yesterday I think are wood mushrooms, but not sure enough to try eating them.

Loads of Chanterelles and Hedgehogs and a few Penny Buns around here Very Happy

I should have written boletes, not ceps. Think they are red cracking bolete. Have also found some small puffballs and one I think is 'uncommon but widespread'. Will get someone to look at it today and see if my ID is correct. We sometimes have unusual fungi in the wood.

They are definitely starting to appear - I love this time of year!

Have had the one I thought was a spiny puffball confirmed. Now have another puzzle that I can't find. It looks like a spiny puffball to start with in both colour and shape, but the spines are less densely packed. It opens up to have a white stem and gills. No sign of veil and don't think there is a frill on the stem either. Any ideas? I might be able to post a picture later when one of our group sends it to me.
