First and last decent Cep of the year.Very nice.
Firm, big, tasty and still with creamy pores.
I don't think I will be finding many more of these this year.
Enough for our dinner though, Bangers and Mash with Cep.

Bingo,
I would not give up on Horns just yet. This morning (I was out before it got light) I walked the dog/checked my patch of Trumpets. The few that were there before were still there BUT there were lots more little ones starting to fruit. It is nice and damp today and (for the moment) the cold spell has past. There is much rain forecast for the weekend and into next week. Trumpets like rain. I am away this weekend and I just hope no one else spots them. I even covered some with a few leaves.
I about 20mins I picked Honey Fungus (on your recomendation), Oyster Mushrooms, Deceivers and a few Chanterelle. Maybe it is not over yet.
