Free pots and tubsSome friends of a friend are landscape gardeners and they often plant out decent sized plants which means they have quite a few pots and tubs left over. These pots would normally be thrown out or recycled and so they are happy to give them away. We've just received over 40 ranging in size from 5 litre (ideal size for fruiting chilli plants), quite a few 10-12 litre pots which are about the size of a black bucket, several 30-40 litre tubs to a massive 70 litre twin handled tub that will be great for a fruit tree.
So, if you know any gardeners and need some large pots it would certainly be worth asking around. In all over 40 for free and they have only been used once. Now I can buy some more fruit bushes and shrubs as we can take them with us once we move.

Most supermarkets and possibly florists chuck away bucket size pots ideal for growing tomato plants. Most will gladly give them to you if asked relaitvely politely too.

We've got quite a few of them, we tend to pay 50p for 8 or so. They are OK but the plastic is a little on the thin side for a long lasting pot but for a few pence or free they are good.

if you can find someone who does the garden for say a caravan site or something similar, they will always give you the pots once they have done their planting out in the spring
i think i have somewhere in the region of 350 at the moment, all of them i have washed out and stored
i only asked for a dozen.................
but when it is offered, you don't turn it down

I've got loads of 3 litre and 9cm black plastic pots, I'll send em in a box to anywhere (UK mainland), one lot only. There's probably 100 3litre ones and 100s of the smaller ones.
