Fresh Meat Packaging

Hi All - I'm trying to find some suitable poly boxes for couriering some pork and lamb in. ....and also the appropriate type ice sheets etc!

Can anyone suggest a reliable source and one that they have perhaps used themselves and therefore can give first hand info on please? A few come up under "Google", but its always better to get a report from someone who has used the products.

Many thanks all.
Very Happy

Not polyboxes but all-card have certain advantages over polyboxes (storage space, compostability, strength in transit, easier & quicker to tape up etc.). Our couriers also like them too.

They're based in Wrexham, although Mary-Jane might have a few spare if you were looking for less than a palletful.

Mr Polysterene on ebay have 60 ltr boxes that easily hold half a pig they are very sturdy and quite reasonably priced

I've feeling that woolly shepherd does recyclable boxes... Yes, here they are

I don't know how the price compares with other insulated boxes.

Thanks guys thumbleft

Marigold - I love the idea of the fleece packing to aid in keeping everything cold - brilliant idea...but unfortunately Woolleys didn't include the actual boxes Sad

Mr Polystyrene has a good variety too.......I never realised there was such a demand for transporting live fish scratch .... but ideal for meat.

Rob - thanks for the link - interesting and ideal,...but no prices Shocked .......but I wonder if Mary Jane MIGHT have a couple I could buy from her Embarassed Will drop her a PM Wink

Cheers All.

I had to wait until I was back at the office PC to get the prices which were-

Small £3-60
Medium £4-65
Large £5-95

Gel packs £0-57
Ice packs £0-90

All per unit + VAT & delivery at cost (per pallet).

The small box price is based upon a quotation for 500 I recently had, but haven't got the orders (nor storage) for 9 pallets.

Other than that www.softboxsystems.co.uk are cheaper (for poly) but more fragile, which is the main reason I switched to card.
