Highland burgundy and salad blue. Nice enough spuds, not the tastiest, but pretty.

I am absolutely convinced that there is a fortune to be made making red, white and blue chips to sell during football games. I wonder if it's worth a go.

Yeah but so much quicker to just add a chemical mix of food colouring...
Pretty colours Cab and they keep the colour when cooked.

Indeed there is. Why grow, say, white cauliflowers when you could grow white ones AND purple ones? Why grow green mange tout when you could also have yellow? I'm a big fan of growing varieties that you can't buy, things that are visibly appealing as well as tasty.

There are loads of varieties of colours of tomatoes, for example, how come we have stuck mainly to red?
That is a naive question for which I do know part of the answer.

They are lovely. Are you going to grow them in the community garden? Bet the kids would love them.

I'm very happy with my yellow and purple beans - I probably won't bother with green next year at all. They are much easier to pick, more prolific and just as tasty. I plan on yellow courgettes for the same reasons!

I've got Highland Burgundy, Edzell Blue and Shetland Black this year. Arran Victory is another good coloured one with a wonderful taste, one of my favourites.

If the locals are in favour of the garden, and the kids want to grow spuds, then yes. They only spud that looks prettier as it comes out of the ground is edzell blue.

They sort of remind me of what Captain Kirk used to pull out of the food replicator for his din dins.
