Garden mulch and a new toyI have a new toy ... one of these
Now I have to talk to the neighbour and offer to clear the waste from the back of her back garden. Should give me huge pile of mulch and count as doing her a favour (and prevent the mess of her garden acting as somewhere for rodents to hide)
But mainly it's a new power tool and power tools are good.

You can shred all houshold cardboard packaging for mulch instead of sending it to landfill

subject to anything it's been coated with? Some would be shredded and then put through the compost rather than used as mulch simply because they insist on producing it in garish colours. But ignoring that can all cardboard be composted or are there any coatings on some of it which mean it wouldn't be a good idea?

mmm I sometimes make logs out of old cardboard boxes. The mashing part is tedious, this has given me an idea.

I'd avoid anything with glossy coatings - often printed with heavy metals in the ink. Also, "wax" boxes that a lot of produce is delivered in aren't usually waxed anymore, they're usually coated with plastic. (that's a bit easier to tell though)
