getting moving in the morning

I overslept slightly this morning, thought I was going to end up catching the next train but I was surprised when I thought about it at how fast I get turned round in the morning. From the alarm going off to leaving the house took 11 minutes this morning, and I did all my usual getting washed and dressed, feeding cat, having a cuppa and checking for emergency stuff on the email that I usually do.

yes, I'd like to have a few minutes longer to read non critical email and drink tea slowly rather than it barely touching the sides on the way down, but all in all, thats not too bad from fast asleep to out of the door I reckoned. When I think about it, I usually have about 25 minutes in the morning to do all that and it seems like ages.

mind, I'll probably find I have my pants on inside out and have packed the cat rather than lunch later on, but hey Laughing

WOW Shocked
i think you should run a master class. seems to take an age in this house but then i do have the added extra of prizing wee boy off his matress and wee girl from some sort of pet care. and making sure they are presentable to the rest of the world and won' t give away all my slutty secrets when the public gaze upon them Rolling Eyes Embarassed chocolate and crisps in the car for breakfast has been known. and i try to make myself feel better by making them wasdh it all down with fruit and water Rolling Eyes
if it was just me i would hit the floor running if it meant an extra five mins in the land of nod

That's impressive Sally Shocked It always takes me an hour to get out of the house, and I have no idea what I do that takes that long Confused

Ah just realised I'm on Steve's computer - it's Penny really Embarassed

Pants on inside out is lucky, I read somewhere.

Takes me about an hour to get up and ready, I like a good breakfast, but in a rush I can get out in about 20 mins. Pants or no pants.

Do you mind! I haven't had my second cup of tea yet Laughing

That is quick sally.
I like an hour to really be ready and not sleepy and presentable to the world. If i've got up late for when i was at uni then i can do it in 15minutes, but like you said i would prefer to taste my tea and breaky.

However, if its just early morning chores, i can do all them in my PJ's and wellies.. so that takes 2minutes max.. as i have to wet the end of my glasses, i hate feeling skin grease in the morning.
Actually if i could wear my PJ's all day it be great as they are so freeing. (i have blue satin/silky trousers and a t-shirt, so i look slightly respectable).

and you even had time to start a new thread before I'd got halfway through my wakeup coffee Smile

so how is the day going after such a lightening start ? Enquiring minds want to know if your lunch was ok ( but the status of your underpinnings can remain a secret)

And I could never get ready that quickly not by the time I've had a shower, dressed and done something about hair and face

I know what you mean. I hate shaving though.

No. Certainly not. It's un-natural. Looking, not your hair/face Smile.

Is it morning (yawns)...

I'm impressed with Sally's time of 11 mins.

Like others here, takes me about an hour, including downing an entire pot of tea.

Eleven minutes is astonishing! No wonder you achieve so much Sally if you always move at a similar pace Very Happy . The duration of my morning routine varies depending on so many factors... But I do HATE having to rush, so I always allow plenty of time if I have to be out of the house at a specific time.

I wish I could be that fast. Somehow it takes me an hour before I leave the house, but that might have something to do with the number of forums I catch up on before going to work.
Nanny

that was a bit quick

used to be a bit like that when we were late getting up for the other place and still had all the animals to do

somehow though you normally can make up the time and get to work at roughly the hours you should

within 5 minutes or so

nowadays there is no such thing as being late but we still awake at 7 and have tea in bed to celebrate the fact that we dont' get up at 5.30 in the morning any more.....

I'm an whirlwind wonder in the morning, too. Anything for an extra few minutes kip - I am not a morning person!

Up, dressed, washed, dogs walked (longest bit!) fed, told to be good and gone in 35 minutes. Personal morning routine can be done in under 10 - too sleepy for tea, but I catch breakfast when I get to work. A bit longer if it's raining, as that means an extra change into and out of wet wet weather gear - although I have driven to work in wellies before now.

People look in mirrors in the morning. Ugh - to be fair, I have a uniform, and people expect me to be clinical (for which read hair pulled back and no make up!)
