Girth on film!Last thurday we had a camera crew at the school allotment filming the me and the kids planting peas. It's part of a promo video for a scheme we're launching to get staff involved with school/community allotments across the region. It was very muddy but the kids were great and cooperated with the crew to repeat shots and get interviewed. So there's plenty of footage me asking the kids "who wants a pea" and exhorting theme to "hold it tight" and "not let it go on the floor". Ho ho. I didn't mean it really.
I wasn't supposed to be interviewed and hadn't been briefed on the details but there were a few spare minutes left and they asked for a quick interview. I really wish I hadn't mentioned dealing with a room full of managment as being easier than dealing with kids.
Any way I've now found out that the final cut is being shown to the Corporate Board of Directors tomorrow. Oh dear.

At least you didn't say that dealing with kids was easier than a roomful of management

Relax! You got it the right way round!
Now if you'd said that kids were reminiscent of management, or anything like that...
Beware post-production editing!
And note how a colourful soundbite scores over substance, every time!

Don't forget to wear your shades tomorrow, so you can slip past the gathered fans on your way to work...
