Go to this shop hereCambridge Farmers Outlet. I've mentioned it briefly before, its brand new. Friendly, everything local and mostly very good, well priced... Sod to find anywhere to lock the bike up, but still, excellent:

Oooh thanks. I see it's a five-minute walk from my work headquarters, which I visit every few weeks. Must try and get along there when I'm next in Cambridge. Any idea of opening times?

Dunno. I'll try to remember to ask.

cab sends me off on another trip down memory lane... I used to wait for the bus home from school at the stop opposite that little parade of shops. I remember a sweetie shop with jars full of scrumptiously unhealthy, tooth-destroying things - pineapple chunks, rhubarb and custards, mixed berries, rainbow drops, sweet peanuts, liquorice allsorts, chocolate eclairs... Not to mention Mars bars, Marathons and Aztec bars . And there was a jewellers where I got my ears pierced. Oh, I do like a bout of nostalgia, thanks cab!

So did I used to wait for bus home at that bus stop! When were you waiting there?! (me, in the early seventies... long time ago)
And yes, I'll check out the shop next time I'm home visiting my mum.

Oh goodness - small world etc - I was at the Perse too, but a bit later - 1971-1978 and I think the bus I used to get was the 118 - going to Grantchester anyway, which is where my mum still lives.
