Going to see a boatEither tonight or tomorrow night. I've lost the rational argument that I don't actually need one and have given in to the emotional argument about family time together, fresh produce, and peace and quiet out on the sea.
It's an orkney spinner 13ft with cuddy. A bit smaller than the Bonwitco 400 I had before but it will do as a stopgap for a couple of years and to be honest I'm happiest when simply pulling up mackerel with the kids or dropping the odd pot inshore so it will do fine.
Fingers crossed

I'm jealous. I'd love a boat. My grandad had a few boats and used to go up and down the estuary. Perhaps it's in my genes.
If I had the money I'd get a yacht - something 36 to 40 feet.
But I've not got the money. Darn it.

Are you sure that those two aren't mutually exclusive?

Why don't you just stand under the shower and tear up £20 notes? At least then you'd be warm!

Wonderful. Happy sailing. I envy you, we are hundreds of km from the nearest coast.

I'm showing off now but I had this delivered last night. Its a bit bigger than I really wanted but I think and hope that it is a bargain.
It comes with a name already and is called Cathy. I've heard that its unlucky to change a boats name.
I'm just having a play with the fishfinder and the radio.
Havent got a clue what to do with them. Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It cost me eleven hundred quid.

It's most definitely unlucky to change the name of a boat.
And it looks a lovely boat to an ignorant eye. I'm kind of jealous. I'd love to have a go on a boat and to fish. I just don't like eating fish.

Nick, you've assumed it's a boat from the subect of this thread, but to my untrained eye it looks like a poorly designed caravan and he's been had.

Well, it's got a fishfinder, and where do you park a caravan under water? Oh. Yeah. Stupid me.
In the area you're in charge of flood defences. How is Sheffield this week?

So? Was it good, did you buy it, are you growing a full face beard and setting sail with lots of little children to show them your fish fingers?
