Gordon Ramsey goes ferreting

Unsure if it has been posted before but good to see on mainstream TV

If Jamie Oliver wants to go ferreting I can tell him just where to put the ferrets to do him the most good.

What a great video. Really good to see a young person getting to grips with where food can come from. Shame my daughters wouldn't be able to do that.
Thanks for posting it.

Are they allergic to ferrets? I understand there's a glut of bunnies in France at the moment.
boisdevie1

My daughters won't do it because they're fluffy bunnies. Round here there doesn't seem to be a glut of them. But I've got a few on the go in the barn. So 4 months time it'll be rabbit with prunes.

Tell him that and I dare say he'd do it. Better still, using a wolverine to give more Transatlantic appeal. He can borrow one of my wolverines from stock.

Wolverine in his pants then. What do you do for the other 13 mins and 50 seconds?
sean

I think you're underestimating the destructive power of the wolverine with that timing.

I was allowing 10 seconds for the wolverine and a minute for a detailed analysis of the blood, guts and gore with some slow motion replays.

Unlike the shy, retiring, limelight-avoiding Mr. Ramsay Laughing

Thread Hi Jacked again.

I watched the ferreting piece on the Gordon Ramsay programme and was very suprised to see that they were using bright yellow coloured purse nets. It flys in the face of everything that I've been taught or done but all the same, I'm sure that one of the rabbits actually ran into one of the techni coloured ones. Shocked

Is rabbit 'in season' the whole year round? Sometimes they're available to buy, sometimes not.
bodger

The answer is yes.
Traditionally, you only went rabbiting in the months with an 'R' in them because the rabbits tend to breed in the warmer months.

In reality, because of global warming, the rabbits are at 'it' for the full 12 months of the year.
Legally you can shoot rabbits all year round and infact, landowners by law, have a responsibility to control the rabbits on their land because they are a pest species. Not a lot of people know that. Laughing

Thanks, Bodger. I had wondered whether at certain times of the year the bucks have some sort of musk or something that spoiled the meat. So apparently not. Learned something.
