Gwledd Conwy Feast - 24 & 25 Hydref // October 2009 | Quote: | Conwy Feast is delighted to announce that pioneering food campaigner and author Tristram Stuart will be at the festival this year.
He will be talking in the books’ tent about his new book Waste: Uncovering The Global Food Scandal.
Tristram, who rears pigs, chickens and bees, is also well known for his freeganism - living off perfectly good food thrown away in supermarket bins.
In Waste, he reveals some uncomfortable truths behind the BOGOFs and special offers.
Supermarkets throw away millions of tonnes of quality food every year and the average UK household bins £420 of food annually which it could save by better planning and storing. The world’s poor and the environment pay the ‘hidden’ cost of all that waste, he reveals.
Look out for Tristram Stuart in the Conwy Feast Books’ Tent… |

Remember how hopeless I was last time?
Text me when you're around. Shall be busy on and off but a chinwag and a brew in the sunshine (hopefully) would be nice

Never say never. You could try your luck with any of these.

We spent a really enjoyable few hours there yesterday. There was a smashing atmosphere both in the town and around the festival itself. There were all the usual food vendors, great street music and lots of real booze.
Kaz and I bought tickets for it in the form of green wrist bands but the majority of people didn't. To be honest, we got no discerbable benefit from having spent 4 quid each.
We didn't mind paying but it seems that the organisers do have a problem in as much as the show is situated in a public area. If we're in the area next year, we'll definately drop in again but we may very well be bandless.

We had a lovely day there uessterday and came home loaded with goodies. Also managed to meet up with BA and have a good old gosspi. A nice lady there commented on his feet and recommended a coat af varnish on the toemails...
We had no problem with the wristbands: we were checked each time we went into a marquee and found the £4 good value.
