Have you got a regional/local Orchard Group ?Met someone from D&G Orchard Group today, and will be getting in contact and going along to join. Basically advice, training and experience-sharing for fruit growers in the region (it's not a sig nificant fruit-growing area). Mainly small growers, often of local / rare types.
Any Downsizers have similar groups in their area ? Are you involved ? Might be good to network. I'll see if any of them are interested in DS.

We haven't got an orchard group - yet 
I am involved in applying for funding and securing a piece of land in the village to be developed into a community orchard (fingers crossed) - it would be nice to think of an orchard group coming from that

I've not contacted and orchard groups but have spoken to some of our local coppice group members. It's certainly useful to tap into the local knowledge so that's something to add to the list of things we need to do when we move.
