Hello from me!Hello
I've just joined the site so thought it would be polite to introduce myself.
My name's Vanessa, I live in Gloucestershire with my OH & 2 children. I'm not as eco-friendly or self-sufficient as I would like to be but more than I used to be so I'm moving in the right direction.
Just had a quick browse around & I can see that there's some fantastic information & inspiring ideas on here ~ it'll take me forever to read it all...so I'd better get started.
Well that's me ~ anything else you want to know just ask.
Cheers,
Vanessa.

Live just outside Cirencester, have a shop in Cheltenham, so yes we know Churchdown. We print a lot of stuff for the school

Thank you Marigold
My 2 go to primary school in Churchdown atm but my daughter goes to senior school in September *gulp*!
Just had a look at your website ~ love your t-shirts...especially the "I beat belimia" one ~ that would suit me down to the ground being of rotund proprtions. My favourite t-shirt that I own at the moment says "Fat people are harder to kidnap"!
Lovely to meet you.

Is there a recipe for this anywhere? You can't just go talking about chocolate swirly cake with melted chocolate like that you know!

Hi Lunaness

Chocolate Swirly Cake.
4 eggs
8oz sugar
8oz butter
10oz self raising
4tbsp boiling water
2tbsp cocoa powder
Mix the top 4 together. Dollop half of it into a foil-lined baking tin (roast beef sized) in splots leaving gaps. Mix the cocoa powder into the boiling water and then put that into the remaining mix and stir well. Dollop that in between the blobs of plain mix. Swirl over the top a bit with a palette knife. Chop up a 100g bar of dark chocolate (I like G&B's 85%) and sprinkle the bits over the top.
Bake at 350F, 180C until it's done.
Try not to eat it all at once.
(Originally from the Classic Rayburn Cookery Book, but mucked about with by me).

Oh dear, I can see being on here won't do my waist line any good at all (like I'm worried)....so many scrummy cake recipes! I've just finished a batch of heart shaped Valentine Biscuits for my OH ~ what a shame there was some dough left over...I just had to make some for me too!
Thank you all for the lovely welcomes ~ off to ice those biscuits now!

I'm not sure the post man would get it there in one piece Blacksmith but if you ever have cause be passing through Gloucestershire, you're welcome to call in for some...cake that is (judging by what I've read so far I thought it best to clarify ).
