Hello to AllA big hello from us here in Caithness. We look forward to chatting with you all.
We are currently establishing a charity to preserve livestock native to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. We have Boreray and Castlemilk Moorit sheep but are looking to expand with other animals soon.

Welcome to Downsizer , and hello from the Water of Milk, just across the valley from the original birthplace of the Castlemilk Moorit. I take it you know the story of how the breed originated ? Glad you are working to keep it going !

Thanks for all the hellos. I do know the story of the Castlemilk and we hope to help with the breeding programme in conjunction with the RBST.

For those that don't know the story, the then laird had a thing about brown animals, so his foxhounds were tan and black, his dairy herd were Ayrshires, his beef cows were brown, and he bred the Castlemilk Moorit as a brown sheep.
