Helloo... ping!!Hello everybody!
Well... In April we completed on the sale of 45 acres of land in Exmoor. It's got about 15acres or so of low input pasture, miles of banks and beech/mixed hedge rows, 10ish acres of oak woodland, river, 10acres of regeneration, river meadow and a huge old ruined linny.
A stunning piece of land that's going to be a real challenge as it's basically a hill farm with no buildings on it.
So, that's where I am at the moment.
Can't wait to dive into all the tips and ideas in here!

Lordy, don't be envious!! We saved for 10 years for this and still couldn't afford it! The only way we could afford it was to get a few of us involved and give up on the idea of ever having our own home!!
A little bit mad, but, well, I've never been interested in houses anyway!

We're in the national park, so wouldn't get planning for a twig to live under!
We're looking at arctic bell tents as a cheaper solution to yurts, until we can make our own. We'll stay in that when we need to be a bit more warm and comfortable.
It's going to be really tough not living there but we bought the land knowing that... grumble..mutter...grrrr...

Yip, it's not right though!! We're asking around Lynton for somewhere to rent. Might be a couple of places coming up.. fingers crossed!!

not ridiculously far then at all! I spent ages chatting to a local farmer the other day and I was mesmerized by his accent! Beautiful! I've got a weirdy accent, what with growing up in Scotland and moving around the country so much! Lordy knows where he thought I was from!

Mines a bit mixed up too We've spent a bit of time on Dartmoor - but I don't think I've ever been to Exmoor. Must rectify that situation.
