Help! I am a numpty and should be hung up by my toes ...I have managed to get rid of the bluetooth icon from my windows taskbar. My bluetooth widget is turned off and I want to turn it on. The Cursed Windows Help System tells me that the way to turn it on is to do it from the Cursed Windows Taskbar by right-clicking on the icon.
I already know this. However, see above.
I have been through everything remotely connected with bluetooth in all the menus I can find and everything points me to the aforementioned CWT icon.
Rebooting doesn't make it appear.
Any suggestions, when everyone has stopped sniggering at me?

under All Programmes is bluetooth still listed (or have you removed the programme itself?) On my machine (running XP) under my bluetooth places there is a bluetooth setup wizardy thing.
Or is the shortcut nesting in your recycling bin on the desktop and can be fished out?

Yes, the set-up wizard is still there - but because I stop the device when I'm not using it, it can't find it. Gah .

Thank you Bernie66 - I had a brain wave and searched for the bluetooth directory and there is something in it called BT-tray.exe, which sticks the icon back where it should be.
Yay!

If it's any consolation I am a numpty too - dougal told me specifically to buy an external hard drive with Firewire as well as USB2. So what did I do when i finally got round to ordering one? Only spent ages weighing up options (no of GB, cost, review ratings on Amazon and in MacUser etc), then forgot all about the Firewire and ordered the wrong thing. Luckily I didn't add to my stupidity by opening the box before I twigged my mistake, so I can send it back and get a refund.
