High quality dexter meat for saleI have surplus dexter meat for sale. 100% grass fed on our own land in Oxfordshire. No chemicals etc. Very quiet temperament. Killed out on 14th July. Anticipate fore quarters will be ready to cut on 1st weekend of August followed by back quarters the following week-end unless you want to hang it and cut it yourself Very high quality meat. Would prefer to sell as whole sides or quarters. Whole sides are approximately 80- 90 kgs ( at point of kill). Do you wish to discuss further or to make me an offer? I'm happy to accept a reasonable price per kg. for this high quality meat.

Hi, Can you tell us how much per kilo the meat is?
I used to keep Dexters and I've never tasted better meat.

A whole side would be around £750

So you are charging £8.35 a kilo minimum regardless of cut - I'm sorry but that's an outrageous price - Dexter is lovely but I wouldn't pay that much for it

More than that. If it 80kg at point of kill I would think it would be a fair bit less after hanging and butchering. Rob R's 20kg packs are 7 quid a kilo and thats after all of the butchering and everything.

When I first saw the post & its tone I did wonder if the OP has been "sold" on dexters by a breeder & told not to sell any cheaper than this price as a way of justifying a high price for the stock animals they sold them. For a 1/2 animal on the bone hot" weight you are out on the price by nearly a factor of TEN. You can expect to loose about 10% of the eight whilst hanging for a start & get about 65-70% boneless meat of which 50% will be cheaper cuts & mince.

So on that basis this is actually over £16 a Kg of which, as you say half will be trim and mince cuts etc.
Nice work if you can get it are you PeeVeely-Wittingstall by any chance?
