Hooooge favour !Well, not really.
Please have a look at this link for a really nice but a very very quiet forum. To be honest, its nearly dead on its feet but I think it would be nice to try and give it a shot in the arm.
Consider joining it, if not for the shire horses, then for me.

PS. Its not one of mine.

Apparently some of the Shire horse classes at the Royal Welsh this year had no entrants! That is very sad.

Wales, especially Anglesey has always been a hotbed for shires.
I joined this forum because of my interest in shires, we used to have one but later saw that hardly anyone was posting on it. Its a really good idea and such a shame that nobody is using it.
Twenty years ago we had a shire mare. This is my now 22 year old daughter with misty.

We were at Burwarton show last week.
When the Shires, driven and in hand were returning from the main ring along the horse aisle all the people watching gave them a spontaneous round of applause . It was really heartwarming
They are such beautiful gentle giants.
The Shire forum looks very friendly

I believe there is a big shire presence at the Oak Fair in Dorset - 23rd August. Magnificent animals and fabulous to see them working and logging rather than just tarted up with ribbons in their hair.

Hey BM, I bet you don't always go out in your working gear.

I've signed up as I love shire horses---just so long as I don't have to stroke them---horses bring me out in blebs like chicken pox
