Houston we have lift off.....................Just been for my 2nd look at my 1/2 allotment, the young lady who had the full length has had to curtail it somewhat due to a bad back !
From the foreground up to the rasp canes is all mine, after she has removed the tatties, what tatties you may ask ? They are around 5-6 inch in height and are covered with couch grass and mares tails
She also wants me to leave the J Artichokes in the foreground until she has harvested them too. I`ll be seiving the ground to find any she has missed, you better believe it !!
The view is southerly and I have, behind a huge willow and a sycamore(chainsaw job I think !!), a small burn for water just 4-5 mtrs to the rear.
We have some lovely neighbours/squatters and I shall endeavour to look after them.......
You do not know how happy I am to get a wee toe hold here, I should have had a full allotment back in April/May, but the owner, who was growing weeds at the time decided as there was an interloper after his plot, just rotovated it and filled it with tatties
Still I am thankful for this small step towards a smaller waistline and better veggies and I will keep you all informed.
YEEEEEEE HA !!!!!!!!

That's great news, KnG. Always very exciting when you get new ground to break, especially with fruit and veg as the end result.

You don`t know the half of it, the other allotments have a book, A4 size with 4 pages of people names waiting for one
I`m at the bottom of page 4 !!

Excellent news. Plenty of time left for late-season and winter veggies if you get cracking.
And if you look after the squatters, they will look after the slugs for you.
