You've spelt 'Independent' incorrectly in the link on the HMM website..."Independant"

Should be an 'e' not an 'a'.
Mary-Jane

Nice to see all the positive stuff by all the above BUT

I thought we sucked in that.

Quote:
43. Hand Made Meat
A kind of online mini-market for locally produced, high-quality meat. Hand Made Meat brings together eight traditional, smallscale producers from across the UK,allowing them to trade directly with consumers in a way that wouldn’t be possible individually – ie providing a more reliable supply and greater range. Lamb, goat, pork and beef are all on offer, much of it from rare breeds. The only catch is that, sausages aside, you have to buy in fairly hefty quantities.Where: www.handmademeat.co.uk

The pic is terrible. Look at everyone elses, they look professional (well most of them there are a few that are pants too).
The write up puts me off. Whats a hefty quantity? Its giving negative messages to the customer.

PS also goes to show how worthless the indi review is. How can we be in the top 50 when we have hardly made any sales yet?
Snowball

Richard, no publicity is bad publicity.
You can be in the top 50, if you are a new enterprise, and hence wouldn't have expected to have sold much yet. It is in the top 50 because it is a brilliant concept, with fantastic product.
Don't put yourselves down in an open forum, it is not good marketing.
Congratulations to everybody involved, I hope the listing brings sales.

Excellent!

Has it got you guys any extra queries yet?
judith

Have you considered entering for the R4 Food Programme Food and Farming Awards - the Best Retail Initiative perhaps?

You want to be careful mentioning 'floods' up your way Laughing
Rob R

Don't let Nick hear you making jokes like that Wink

You may or may not have a flood of enquiries but I think it would be a good idea to take it from the news page of your site and stick it on the front page. When we won Britain's Best New Deli and also were included in Country Life's Britain's Top Ten Christmas Hampers I sent a press release to everyone I could think of and we got some extra PR out of it. Journalists are lazy, they need to be fed stories.
mochyn

I've followed judith's suggestion and submitted a nomination.

Indeed, Cathryn has beaten us to it: http://handmademeat.co.uk/news/index.html Very Happy
Cathryn

It is going on the front page as well. Thought of that on the way into work. And it is the second sentence in the forthcoming newsletter. Any other suggestions as to how we capitalise on it would be great. All Traders could add it to their own sites for a start.

Thank you Mochyn, Judith. (What are the implications of this. Shocked Smile I'd better go and look.)
mochyn

Implications? Lots of high profile foodies involved: HFW, Jamie O etc. And a big following amongst R4 listeners, so excellent publicity.

If you haven't heard the Food Programme it's on R4 Sundays and again during the week. Well worth a listen.

You need a press release on this, tailorable such that you add your own details in to it so that when you send it to your local papers they've got the local angle.
Cathryn

Very Happy Not those, yes it would be fantastic! I have heard of the food programme even manage to catch it at times. I get wireless here dontcha know. Rolling Eyes Laughing

(Do I need to do anything is what I meant.)

Of course! This is an element of my current job. Embarassed I think I need a rest.
