How can I...

Add a recipe to the database? It tells me that I have to be logged in - I am! Or do I have to be an admin or mod person to do this?

No, When you are in the recipe bit, if you look at the small print on the right hand side under main menu you will see a link saying log in.

It's a different bit of the site from the forum, so though you use the same user name and password, it needs to be done separately.
sean

The main site and the forum have separate log-ins. You need to log in on the main site to add recipes. There's a log in box on the front page.
sean

Damn, beaten to the submit button again.
Tay

Thank you both - I shall look more closely before I start a new topic. Doh. Embarassed

I had to ask too.
sean

It is confusing. Jema did such a good job on welding the two bits of the site together that it's easy to forget/not realise that it's a cut-and-shut.

If it had been a really good job it would have been Laughing

But then again the method chosen did basically avoid messing with the core site code, and hence probably was for the best.
Tay

You have done a brilliant job, Jema! I just didn't look closely enough.

Recipe now added.

Now you'll have to wait for BFA or someone to turn up and publish it, so it won't appear in the data base for a little while

so with the recipies, we log in, add stuff and it has to be approved to be published,

what's the procedure for articles?
Tay

You will all just have to wait for the best soup in the world! Laughing

Pretty much the same. You post them, and then they are put on to the main site. It's not so much about them being approved as having Joomla (similar to voodoo as far I as can make out Embarassed ) done to it.

Write them up as a post or PM. If you've got pics can you put them in using our gallery please? Then if you rearrange your flickr (or whatever) account it doesn't muck up the image links. Please don't do them in Word 'cos it tries to stick loads of stupid formatting in. Then yell at me until I remember to publish it.
Jamanda

In which case ignore that link. It needs updating.

Ooops - that reminds me - I said I'd do a nettle soup article. 'Fraid it'll have to wait for a week or so as I am away very soon for a week and I have too much to do before I go Embarassed
