How long does it take for pear trees to produce fruit

Some years ago (maybe four?) I planted a mix of apple and pear trees which are being espaliered. The apple trees are starting to be productive, the pear trees are not. So how long will it take for pear trees to start producing fruit?

Our eating pear was planted 4 years ago - crops last 2 years, but not a thing on it this year because when it flowers (early) it was too cold for the bees.

'Plant pears for your heirs' - they take ages, I understand.

3 years should see a start, useful crops by year 5. Commercially they crop at year 1 on apples, pears and cherries nowadays.
