How much should I charge for goose eggs?A neighbour would like half a dozen goose eggs off me for a gift and I have no idea what to charge for them. I have seen prices between 50p and £1.80! I was thinking about 50p each - does that sound about right?
Actually, I need a bale of hay so I might swap them for that, sound fair?
Thank you!

Swap it for hay, and deepen your relationship.
We bought our sheep turnover crate with hay.

I would say definatley barter, but if you keep 50-80p in mind as a rough indication of value that will help when someone next says 'what can I give you in exchange'. Not that barter need be about like values in the slightest, but sometimes it helps in the early days when both parties are trying to work out a fair exchange

Great, thanks everyone, I'll swap it for hay then. I think she only wants them as a one off for a visiting relative, so even if the price isn't exactly equal (I usually get hay off them for £2.50 a bale) its much easier like this!
Thanks again.

Very young goslings at the various marts sell for between four and seven pounds.
It depends upon whether your goose eggs are viable hatching eggs or destined for eating.
