Jools	How to increase height on current fencing We're going to be moving the chickens up to the field. At the moment, the boundary fencing along the road is wooden with 3 rails and has stock fencing nailed to it, but it's only about 3-4 feet high. Because I don't want the girls to get out onto the road, how can we increase the height? New tall posts attached to the existing posts with chicken wire?

I did something similar when we lived in the house with the field that sloped down towards the fence and gave them a run-up. I think I used two by one and screwed it on to the existing fence posts. And then staple gunned wide-mesh chicken wire to it. I did two feet I think. If it's quite floppy it discourages them from trying to perch on it, too.

Chez, I think that's what we'll do. We already have a roll of chicken wire and Rob found some 2x1 at his mums. 12Bore
