I have been excused weeding dutyWeeding out the bottom of the garden I have called a complete halt as I have just found a bees nest there. So we now have bumbles dozily bouncing around the garden and I don't have to do the weeding - result

i like bumblebees. saw a lot around here a few weeks ago, but not many since.

 My Pops taught me a rhyme when I was little. it was
Pity the humble bumble bee
who lives in a hole in the wall
and has to feed a hundred kids
without any help at all.
you see, they are not like hive bees. they start each year with just one solo mom. so i really respect them. well done for leaving them to finish their season in peace.
