I Have Five MedlarsThis is not a fruit one ever sees around here (New Jersey, on east coast of USA.) A friend who grows a medlar for its good looks mailed me 5 fruits, also a Chinese quince, Pseudocydonia. What can I do with the medlars?
I could just eat them, once they blett. Make jam in combination with the quince and / or apples? I have venison in the freezer - make some sort of fruit sauce / relish kind of thing?
Any experienced medlar cooks out there with suggestions?
Meanwhile, I look at them sitting on a pretty blue dish and enjoy their appearance. Want to enjoy eating them too . . . .

I've only ever had medlar jam, which was very tasty, won't have a worthwhile crop till next year so no help at all, anyone else?
